Key Maps

Toggle the key map on (or off) by clicking the plus (or minus) sign on the black key map bar (lower right hand of the map area). The blue rectangle shown in the key map indicates the area shown in the main map window.

Legend

Click on the Maximize panel button on the right side of the blue Legend bar (to the left of the map window) to open the Legend window. Use the scroll bar to view the list of map symbols and what they mean.

Pin Icon and Pin Window

When you add a point to the map by either using the search function, or dragging and dropping a custom pin icon, the map displays that point until you delete it. A route is comprised of two or more points.

Show the Pin Icon Window

If it is not already displayed above a point, clicking on a pin icon will open its window.

North Indicator

The N-arrow in the black circle indicates North. As you pan across the map, it will be noted when the mapping is no longer "north up" and the North arrow will reflect the new direction of North.

Pan

To pan, click anywhere on the map and then drag while holding the mouse button.

You are Viewing and Show/Hide Page Numbers

This website is an electronic version of printed MapArt map books. A message at the bottom left of the map window tells you which MapArt product you are viewing. For easy reference between this page and your paper copy, toggle the page numbers on/off by clicking the purple bar at the top of the map window.

If the Show Page Numbers Bar is Not Visible

If the Show page numbers bar is not visible, zoom out 2 increments.
